Shark experts estimate that over 100 million sharks are killed for their fins alone each year! Over 99% of the Shark is unused and re-thrown into the ocean to bleed to death. Within a decade most of the world's shark populations will be extinct effecting the stability of marine ecosystems significantly.

The movie Shark Water made be incredibly more aware of the devastating effects of long lining and shark fining. For more facts watch the movie or check out their website. Only 17 countries have banned shark finning, and Canada is not one of them! One easy way you can help the sharks is by voting with your dollar; refuse to eat shark fin soup, it makes up majority of the demand for shark finning.
More people are killed by vending machines each year than by shark attack.
