Three Pears, three pairs, 3 X 2=6, threesome times two, six-tom, sex-a-ton, burn calories, hunger, pear, two more, and that makes three pears.

Play That Poster

This is the small collection of creative band posters I've come to acquire. The concept of art describing art is simply great.

Print it and play it.

181/365:

This is what I was listening to at the end of August. Considering that it's been nicer outside in October, I figured I should post this now. My blog posts are very sensitive to the weather. They have been diagnosed with S.A.D in fact.

Day 175/365: We Don't Want Your Body, Stars.
You're tuned into my frequency, but that don't mean a thing to me, cause I don't want your body.

176/365: Lose Control, Missy Elliot Feat. Ciara.
365 days of music make you lose control.

177/365: Radar Detector, Darwin Deez.
Forget baby and honey, you're my radar detector.

178/365: Fuck You, Cee-Lo Green.
Super catchy right now, as well as a nonchalant way to tell someone fuck you.

179/365: Mama I Love You, The Spice Girls.
My mummy was sick this weekend and I watched Spice World. Thus this song was born!

180/365: Let's Go Surfing, The Drums.
If only my summer consisted of this phrase - Next year I tell you, next year.

181/365: Monster Hospital, Metric.
I fought the war, but the war won't -stop for the love of God.

153/365

Osheaga was amazing! Here is the remainder of the best live songs I heard there, plus some back to work tunes.

WOO!

Day 147/365: Drop It Like Its Hot, Snopp Dogg.
Off the motherfuckin' chain @Osheaga! Snoop- "Repeat after me, BIATCH! Entire crowd-BIATCH!"

Day 148/365: Combat Baby, Metric.
How I miss your ranting, do you miss my all time lows.

Day 149/365: E is for Estranged, Owen Pallete.
A great end to an amazing week! O is for Osheaga!

Day 150/365: My Next Girl, The Black Keys.
"My next girl, won't be nothing like my ex girl"-stuck in my head.

Day 151/365: Humans Are Dead, Flight of The Conchords.
Watched A.I. last night and have had this stuck in my head since. Affirmative.

Day 152/365: BEARBOT MIXTAPE, BEARBOT.
Best 10+ song mashup I've ever heard. At 15 minutes long, it's been my cardio track for the past year.

Day 153/365: Spice Up Your Life, Spice Girls.
What's that? Did I just stumble upon old CD gold?? Why yes, yes I have. Shake it to the front!

104/365

A more subdued listening entree for the contemplative palette. Ace of Base is totally soothing, shut up.

Day 98/365: When You Love Somebody, The Fruit Bats
I was feeling mushy lovely dovey today, not that far off from how I feel most days.

Day 99/365: Dearest, Buddy Holly
A prelude to the beautiful ever so dear Canadian east. AKA, I went to Toronto for a wedding.

Day 100(Triple effing digits!)/365: Swallowed in the Sea, Coldplay
This song is a poem, this song is my emotion, this song is short, this song is long, this song.

Day 101/365: Stadium Love, Metric
Ah the circle of life via Emily Haine's fucked up interpretations, I forever envy her. She would bet on nature.

Day 102/365: When You Ever Really Loved A Woman, Bryan Adams
My most beloved love song played at the first wedding I ever attended this night. Needless to say I cried like a baby. Also some guy is playing the drums in the video for his "Love" GUSH!

Day 103/365: I Saw The Sign, Ace of Base
This was obviously a very philosophical piece regarding omens.... or not. Came into my head via neuron shuffle algorithm.  Watch this solely for the hilariously 90s music video.

Day 104/365: Still, Great Lake Swimmers
An ode to the great lakes. You don't smell of sea brime, but I 'still' adore you.

56/365

Although I've been in a bit of a post-modern funk concerning my 365 Days of Music project (other bloggers have been doing the same project under the same NAME for years), I promise to continue throughout the year and make my (although seemingly insignificant) mark in blogger history.

Day 50/365: Pa Pa Power, Dead Man's Bones.
One of the most golden redemption songs provided by Starbucks. I foresee this song catching a serious summer listening flu.

Day 51/365: Piano Sonata No. 50 in C, Hayden
One of my favorite classical pieces; the song provides such jovial contrasts from both sides of the piano. I adore that instrumental works have a different story for everyone.

Day 52/365: Listen, (Listen, Listen), Wintersleep
This is the most beautiful song I have EVER heard. The title says it all.

Day 53/365: Blue Eyes, Cary Brothers
Because he sings me Green Eyes, I hum him Blue Eyes. Love.

Day 54/365: If It Kills Me, Jason Mraz
Listened to this adorably romantic song after watching 4 hours of Dexter. The inherent irony in the title of the song and Dexter being a psychopathic serial killer is delicious. My friend also did a beautiful dance to this song : http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1127500841702 !

Day 55/365: Bubble Toes, Jack Johnson
Nostalgic recollection of extreme idealism in ninth grade, I thought this song was written for me.

Day 56/365: Satellite Mind, Metric
Their music is like poetry, incredibly catchy and foot tapping prose. Listen just for the lyrics.

Fantasies

This weekend was exceptional. Other than Halloween hilarity, the Metric concert on Friday was a major high point. I have a few comments to make about the show:
  • How cool/attractive/not 35 looking/talented is Emily Haines? Incredibly, so. I support whatever addiction may cause her to be that way.
  • The negative live image of her playing the synthesizer was a really great background.
  • I really loved her outfit of a low back silver sequence dress. I personally think it was Twilight inspired (ahem, Twilight fantasies, and Help I'm Alive = symbolism people).
  • The 30 or so hanging bare light bulbs were great theme setting lights.
  • The best songs performed were : Monster Hospital, Stadium Love, Dead Disco, Sick Muse, and of course Combat Baby.
  • Wish they would have played my favorite songs- Soft Rock Star, Love is a place, and of course Calculation Theme.
  • I am really glad that their fourth album is just as good as their other work. I appreciate the thematic nature of each of their albums.
  • There is no need to get an artificial buzz from alcohol and drugs when a band's performance will have the same affect. I was buzzing after this show.
  • It makes all the difference when the passion and joy of performance is palpable from the stage.
  • I already can't wait for the next time I can see them live... hopefully not behind a head bobber with no consideration for my face's sensation of his hair.

Keep doing it wrong, singing along.
